Safari Mac Tip: How To Make Homepage The Favorites Bookmark Tab on Toolbar

Safari in OS X 10.10 Yosemite, adds a new favorites page for your Bookmarks that's like the one on iOS (iPhone and iPad). It shows big icons (and site logos, if the website supports Apple Touch Icon)  for all your favorite websites.

This Favorites tab makes a great New Tab Page, but it would also make a great Homepage. In Safari, you can make this Favorites tab the new window page, and the new tab page - but you can't make it the Homepage. Or can you?!

Yes, and no. If what you can trying to achieve is having a button on your toolbar that replaces the current page you're on with the Favorites bookmark page, then yes, you can do this! Just not with the Home button.

How To Set Bookmarks Favorites Tab Button on Safari Toolbar:

1. What you'll need to do is, right click (control + click) on Safari's toolbar.

2. Click "Customize Toolbar".

3. Grab the "Top Sites" button and drag it over to the toolbar and position it wherever you like. You can also remove the Homepage button if you no longer want it, while you're editing.

4. Click "Done" to save your changes.

Now whenever you click the Top Sites button, you'll be taken to your Favorite Bookmarks page.
