How To Hide Images in Photos App - iOS 8 Tips & Tricks

In iOS 8, Apple has added the ability for you to hide your private images in the Photos (Collections, Moments ect..) part of the iOS Photo App. Best used when you want to hide a photo before you let someone else slide through other photos in that section.

To hide a photo, simply press and hold on the photo you want to hide. A pop up option that says Copy and Hide will appear. Press 'Hide'.

Hidden photos can still be viewed in your Camera Roll and in a new special folder in Albums called 'Hidden'.  The only place the photos are hidden from is the 'Photos' tab view, the one which breaks down your photos into Years, Collections, and Moments.

There is no way to lock your private images with a pin using the default iOS Photos app. If you really want an app that can do this, try Document 5, a free app, it's great for storing and accessing photos from wherever they are stored, whether it be in the app itself, on your iOS device, or in an online cloud storage. You can also set a Pin to lock the app, and it features Touch ID support.
