What Apple Announced Today: New iPads! New Retina iMac & New Mac Mini


Here's my key information notes of what you need to know from today's Apple event. 

iPad Air 2

- iOS 8.1 to be released Monday. Apple Pay also to begin Monday with the new update.

- OS X 10.10 Yosemite - download today.

- New iPad Air 2! Even thinner than a pencil. 6.1mm. Also comes in Gold. Reduced internal reflection. A8X processor. Upgraded Camera, 8 MP, (still no flash). Slo-mo video. New FaceTime HD camera. Faster Wi-Fi up to 150 Mbps. 20 LTE bands. Touch ID. Apple Pay (purchases made through apps). Starts at $499, $130 more for LTE version.

- New iPad Mini 3! 5 MP Camera. Starts at $399 (for Wi-Fi model). FaceTime HD camera. Touch ID.

- New iPad's available for pre-order tomorrow, October 17th. Shipping next week.

- All new iMac with Retina Display. 14.7 million pixels. More than 4K. 7x more than HD. 27 inch 5,120 x 2,880 pixels. iMac is 5 mm thick. 4.0GHz Core i7. AMD Radeon R9 graphics. $2,499 starting price for 27 inch iMac with Retina Display.

- New Mac Mini. Starting at $499, $100 lower than previous price. 4th Gen Intel Core processor: Intel Iris and HD Graphics 5000. Two thunderbolt ports. 802.11ac Wi-Fi.

- New Mac Mini and iMac's available from today.
